AUCKLAND - GENERAL IMPRESSION
Most of the people who visit New Zealand arrive in Auckland. It is a great cosmopolitan place to start your trip through New Zealand. You can learn a bit about New Zealand’s history in one of its museums, explore the waterfront, climb the 328-meter high Sky Tower or just kick back and relax in one of its many bars.
You can easily spend 2 to 3 days here. If you aren’t on a tight schedule you might even want to stay a bit longer and take in the surroundings as well.
Although Auckland is a big city, it is relatively easy to get around. If you are staying in the city center you can even manage to see the main attractions on foot.
Queens street is the main street that will take you from Newtown to Downtown. If you are looking for restaurants and bars, head to Ponsonby Road or the waterfront. For shopping, you can go to High Street. Parnell is a small suburb with galleries and boutique shops.
