TRAVEL GUIDE TO CUBAIsland of salsa, rum, tropical beaches, classic cars, sigars and Fidel Castro s communistic regime!
Cuba is a very particular travel destination and its many faces will leave just as many impressions. We have to say that Cuba is quite an intense country to visit. Although the country s image is heavily romantised, the harsh reality of poverty and Fidel Castro s strict political control of the country will not be unnoticed. Cuba really is a very poor country. Wages are low, public transportation is poor and gasoline is unaffordable for the average family. Still, Cubans are remarkably friendly, proud, and spontaneous people. You will meet some great people, but be aware that some people you meet are only trying to make a few extra pennies by offering whatever you may want. Also be aware that although its poverty Cuba is not a cheap country to visit for tourists. The government has created a special currency for tourists -the peso convertible - which makes Cuba way more expensive for foreigners than for the local population. In any way, the music is fantastic, just like the landscapes, the cities, Havana, Santiago, the tropical beaches, the cars. It is an unique place in the world and we recommend you to visit.
