Shopping in London

Oxford Street and other shopping streets

Yes, pain in your wallet is at grasp here. Oxford Street is where all the flagship stores are and where the most mainstream shopping can be done. For the rich people among us, there is Bond Street where the big labels like Calvin Klein and Prada have their stores. For all the others, take a look at Regent’s Street and the little streets east of it. Especially around Christmas London is a great place to shop, as everything is lit with dazzling decorations, shop-windows are beautifully arranged and shops are open until late at night.

Notting Hill Market

A trip to Notting Hill Market is something to prepare well for. If possible, watch the classic movie ‘Notting Hill’ to come in the right mood. When in London, it’s best to plan your visit early in the morning as there are not many tourists and the good stuff is still there. In the afternoon it gets crammed with tourists and although it’s also less crowded you come in the late afternoon the best products may be gone. Also, be sure to bargain about the price and treat yourself with a coffee afterwards in one of the cozy little café’s.

Spitalfields Market

This little market has the same feel as Borough Market as it is covered as well. However, the products sold are totally different. Clothes and accessories are all you will find here. When looking for a bit more unique outfit, this is where you need to look. Although it is a bit out of centre, you will not regret coming here.
