Mérida
If you’re looking to see more of Venezuela besides the tropical beaches then Mérida should be your next stop. Thanks to its spectacular location in an Andean valley Mérida is the adventure capital of Venezuela. From here you can organize various spectacular excursions and trips to some of Venezuela’s most appealing areas. Whether it’s the mighty Andean peaks that you’re after or an adventure into the extensive wetlands of Los Llanos, mountain climbing, hiking, trekking, Mérida has it all. You can also organize a trip to the daily lightning spectacle at Lake Catatumbo. If you haven’t had enough you can go rafting, or mountain biking in the surrounding area.
During the week there are plenty of bars to get watered up and during the weekends everybody goes nuts at la Cucaracha nightclubs. Time flies in this wonderful and adventurous town!
