A great tip for the north is the Gibbon Experience. Do this if you have the time for it!!. And based on the many positive reactions that we received you should make time for this.

Beware that the Gibbon Experience gets fully booked weeks ahead so you need to make a reservation. The Gibbon experience is located in a national park in the northwest of Laos where a network of cables is made between different tree huts in an amazing pristine jungle. This area is one of the last habitats of the Gibbon monkey on earth. You can slide high through the sky through the jungle canopy using this cable system. We have received very positive reactions from people who said that this was the highlight of their trip to South-East Asia. You NEED to book weeks ahead. Transport there could be a bit difficult, especially during the rainy season, but that is part of the fun right. www.gibbonx.org. You could even include the Gibbon Experience in a 2 week trip, but do note that if you do, the entire trip will take about a week including traveling time (getting there and back).
